Shopify store still shows the password page

You opened your store to the public, but visitors still see "Enter store using password". Three things cause it.

What to do, in order

1. Pick a plan. A store on a free trial cannot remove the password. In the admin, open Settings, Plan, and choose one.
2. Turn the password off. Go to Online Store, Preferences, Password protection. Untick "Restrict access to visitors with the password" and save.
3. Clear the old page. Your own browser may still hold the password page. Open the store in a private window or on your phone.
4. Custom domain? In Settings, Domains, check your domain is the primary one and shows "Connected". A domain still pointing elsewhere can show an old page.
5. Still there after an hour? Contact Shopify support with the store address. It is their switch, not your theme.
